With the upcoming Genshin Impact 3.0 update a few days away, developer miHoYo is already getting busy showing off new characters coming in 3.1. The studio’s hugely popular online title regularly introduces new characters, with the next arrivals set to drop later in September.
In the past few weeks, the announcements for all that is coming to Genshin Impact have picked up significantly. Coming in the 3.0 update is the new region of Sumeru, the Dendro element, five new events, and the beginning of the story quests, as the story will be rolled out through updates 3.1 and 3.2. Three new characters in Tighnari, Collei, and Dori will also be joining the roster of playable characters in Genshin Impact‘s update 3.0, with the first two being the first playable Dendro characters. However, the three new characters announced this morning have been shown off in promotions and teases, and getting official news and information about that is a huge step forward.
As revealed by the Genshin Impact Twitter account, these three new characters coming are the Electro Polearm 5- Star Cyno, Hydro Sword 5-Star Nilou, and Hydro Polearm 4-Star Candace. All have been announced to be the playable characters coming in the 3.1 updates. Cyno and Nilou have been shown for a while, so their announcement is a huge relief to fans. Meanwhile, Candace first leaked not long ago and has caused excitement not just for her design but also for being the first Hydro Polearm user.
Genshin Impact 3.1 Introduces Long-Awaited Characters
Along with their announcements, each character was given a bit of backstory. Genshin Impact‘s long leaked Cyno is known as “General Mahamatra,” Nilou the “Star of Zubayr Theater,” and Candace the “Guardian of Aaru Village.” While little is known about how these characters will play, based on their elements and recent successes of other five and four-star characters, it’s already looking like they could be popular. Cyno may have a challenging time competing with the powerhouse that is Raiden Shogun or the supportive Yae Miko. Meanwhile, Nilou and Candace will be added to a competitive Hydro element which will force their skills to earn them a spot on teams.
